Ageing Concern Foundation

As part of the 2026 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) commemorations, Ageing Concern Foundation (ACF), in collaboration with Older Persons Associations (OPAs) and other stakeholders, will implement a series of community-level awareness activities in Migori and Kisii Counties, culminating in the national celebrations to be held in Gucha, Kisii County, on 15th June 2026. The commemorations will feature intergenerational dialogues bringing together older persons, young people, community members, duty bearers, and other key stakeholders to promote awareness on the rights, dignity, protection, and well-being of older persons. The activities aim to foster mutual understanding between generations, challenge age-related stereotypes and discrimination, and strengthen community efforts to prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Through these engagements, ACF seeks to amplify the voices of older persons while advancing a society that values, respects, and safeguards the rights and contributions of older people.
