Media Sensitization Forum on the Social Protection Act, 2025
Recognizing the important role of the media in shaping public discourse and amplifying issues
affecting older persons, we have organized a Media Sensitization Forum on the Social Protection Act, 2025. The forum seeks to strengthen media understanding of the Act, its gains,
gaps, and advocacy opportunities and to promote informed and evidence-based reporting on ageing, social protection, and older persons’ rights in Kenya.
The forum will seek to enhance media understanding of the Social Protection Act, 2025 and its Regulations, highlight key gains and gaps in the Act from an older persons’ rights perspective, explore advocacy opportunities for strengthening social protection for older persons,
and promote sustained media engagement on ageing and social protection issues.
