August Monthly Discussion Forum on Ageing- 14th Edition
The August Monthly Discussion Forum on Ageing (MDFA), themed “Ageing Together: Building a Community for All Generations,” will bring together stakeholders to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping relationships across generations in Kenya. The forum will address issues including ageism, elder abuse and neglect, social protection, retirement preparedness, family responsibility, civic participation and intergenerational trust, while creating a safe and inclusive space for generations to listen to one another, challenge stereotypes and share perspectives. Through an intergenerational dialogue and expert panel discussion, participants will identify practical actions for strengthening mutual respect, social cohesion and solidarity, and generate recommendations to inform ongoing national discussions on the rights and wellbeing of older persons and Kenya’s ageing population.
