We joined other Social Development actors in the Second World Summit for Social Development, held in Doha, Qatar, from 4-6 November at the Qatar National Convention Centre, aimed to reaffirm global solidarity and accelerate action on social development by assessing progress, addressing gaps, and strengthening implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Over three packed days of plenaries and high-level roundtables, delegates marked 30 years since the landmark 1995 Copenhagen Summit, reflecting on how far social development has come – and how far it still has to go. The Summit concluded with calls for countries to move swiftly from commitments to implementation, ensuring that the Doha Political Declaration delivers measurable progress on poverty reduction, decent work and social inclusion.
