The October 2025 MDFA, held as an online session and themed “Reflecting on the United Nations International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) 2025: Lessons, Highlights, and Way Forward,” reviewed key UNIDOP activities carried out by various Older Persons Organizations (OPOs) across seven counties, reaching 4,624 older persons. Activities included medical camps, distribution of assistive devices, awareness creation on ageing issues, sensitization and enrolment under the Social Health Authority (SHA), as well as social and cultural engagements. Participants underscored the need to strengthen advocacy for better social protection, expand volunteer and community champion initiatives, and enhance partnerships among government, civil society, and communities to support coordinated, long-term action on ageing.
